ANVIL is the design for a cast iron nutcracker. it uses the special characteristics of the cast material in functional and formal way.
ANVIL works with the simple principe of hammer force. the nutshell breaks and the kernels remains whole because of the position on the anvil. whole nuts, cracks of shell and the kernels of the nut are fitting in the bowl shape of the base.
the form of the nutcracker is independent and the combination of shape, cast iron and walnut wood creates a warm presence on the table.
